This post highlights the top 10 trending iPhone apps in the United States, based on display and video programmatic advertising volume, in Q1 2019. To see the most recent top 30 apps, download the list here:
- 14 of the top 30 display apps (47%) and 16 of the top 30 video apps (53%) were in the Games category
MyFitnessPal ranked in the top 10 for display advertising — likely due to people seeking to stay in shape as their New Year's resolutions
The Music category, which has four apps in the top 10 for iPhone programmatic video advertising in Q4 2018, had just one app in the top 10 in Q1 2019
Trending iPhone apps for display advertising (Q1 2019)
- People looked to stay in shape to start the new year, and advertisers kept pace: MyFitnessPal ranked in the top 10 for display advertising
The Entertainment category (Movie Poster Mania and theCHIVE) ranked in the top 10
The Social Networking category (Grindr and Text Me) also had two apps in the top 10
Trending iPhone apps for video advertising (Q1 2019)
In Q4 2018, four Music apps ranked in the top 10, but in Q1 2019, only one stayed (Slacker Radio)
Games made up seven of the top 10 apps for video advertising (compared to three of the top 10 in display)
The WeatherBug Weather app appears in the top five, and it's the only weather app to appear in the top 30
